Focus on Communities United for Success (FOCUS) has recently joined forces with three other non-profit organizations in Baltimore that offer inner-city youth and young adults free professional IT training. Our training mission is to equip young adults to enter the IT field and fill the nearly 200,000 IT job vacancies while helping them to tackle unaddressed physical, spiritual, and mental traumas.
As community-based non-profit organizations, we are also faced with the endeavor to conquer mental health issues and learning challenges our students face. Therefore, we are seeking the expertise and assistance from those in the “Helping Profession” to map out a holistic approach to stabilize these young adults. Such efforts will aid in getting the students through training and enable them to obtain one of the 200,000 forecasted IT jobs in the Baltimore region.
